about

The title may give the wrong impression. If you think you’ve heard it all before, you’re in for a surprise. This is definitely more than just another insipid Lounge compilation.
Relax by Arjuna de Bromo will take you on a kaleidoscopic journey of discovery, exploring authentic regional music from around south-east Asia. Relax aims to make these often relatively unknown musical traditions accessible to a wider audience. Artist/producer Arjuna de Bromo's original compositions reflect his passion for the traditional musical cultures of Bali, Java, Malaysia, China, and India. He has sensitively fused them with his own musical background in electronic music to create an edgy new sound that pays respectful homage to tradition while giving it a radically modern new twist.

Arjuna de Bromo is a percussionist and producer who has travelled extensively through south-east Asia, sampling street sounds and music and building up an impressive collection of traditional Balinese percussion instruments that he frequently uses in his compositions.

Relax Bali is the first of a projected series of musical journeys exploring the best of music, east and west.
